Arrived at your Hyatt Regency Long Island at 3:10 for my 3:00 pm check in on 5/4/24. I was informed that my room was not ready because it was a Pure room and that takes longer to clean. Which is odd since people check out at 11 AM and this was 4 hours later. I asked how long it would take and they just repeated it takes longer because its a pure room. They said they would shoot me a text when it was ready. After waiting for an hour, I went back to the desk and asked another gentleman (who seemed high as a kite) if my room was ready. He took my name, checked and said no. I told them I had a wedding I had to get to by 5:30, to which he perked up a bit and asked me which wedding, since there were several going on at the hotel. When I informed him it was not on the premises he asked if I was willing to take a different room, that wasn't a pure room. I said fine. To which he replied, oh we don't have any. Then the woman next to him asked if I would take a kings size bed and a rollaway. I told them I didn't care as long as there was no upcharge and I could get right into the room. I was told there wouldn't be, but even though the room was clean there was no linens on the bed. I asked if they would be put on before we got up to the room which was on the 9th floor..I got no response. They gave me the keys, we went to the room. The bed was stripped and everything was left in a pile in the middle of the bed. Housekeeping came up about ten minutes later with the rollaway bed and asked if we needed them to set it up at that time. I said no, we had to get ready for the wedding. They then came back 30 minutes later and asked again, again I said no we needed the room. We left to go to the wedding, and at 8:13 PM I received the text that my room was ready. See attached photo. So, I would have been sitting in the lobby for 5 hours and missed more than half of my nephew's wedding had I not taken the other room. After the wedding was over we go back to the hotel. It's swarming with drunk firemen because they were also there for an affair. The elevators were backed up, we had to wait on line to get in one. Finally get up to our room only to find that neither of our keys are working anymore. I call down to the front desk and they tell me I have to go back down to the lobby to get a new key. So back to the elevators and to wait for the new key. We get back upstairs to our room, after being told that we should have been asked for photo id to get the new keys, only to find that the rollaway bed is still standing in the same spot, all bungeed up and not set up. But at least the sheets were on the bed. So, at midnight I had to rearrange the furniture and set up this rollaway bed myself. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience, and I will not be patronizing your chain again.

Check in time is 3pm. Most people in our party didn’t have rooms until at least 5 hours afterwards. No one even knew why because there was zero transparency.

Late Check In - Almost Missed Wedding

Arrived at 2:30pm for 3pm check in. Wedding bus set to leave at 4:30pm. Hotel did not get us access to our room until 3:45pm and they did not have the room fully cleaned by then. They admitted to overbooking the property. Do not stay here as they might not be able to accommodate.

He is the Hotel manager that took the time to get back to me. His demeanor was great! He fully understood my concerns and addressed them! It's a pleasure to know in this day and age somebody actually cares. Many Thanks Felix!!

Unusable internet, broken hardware, rodents, and drunks

The hotel's surroundings are beautiful but the rooms are ancient and the service is lazy/incompetent. Problems we encountered: - Hotel internet is too slow for work, let alone streaming. The hotel manager acknowledged that their internet hasn't been upgraded in many years. Bring your own wifi hotspot! - Our room had 3 broken windows - the 1st one could not open, the 2nd one would not stay open. I had to prop the 3rd window open using a stick. - Our room also had a broken faucet. The engineer fixed it but left a mess. I could not get housekeeping so had to clean up the mess myself. - We heard rustling sounds coming from within the wall attached to the bed headboard. This was not a human noise or a mechanical noise. I advised the GM to check for rodent droppings in the vicinity and he acknowledged sending an exterminator. - During our stay, the hotel hosted 5 - 6 simultaneous weddings. On weekends, you will definitely encounter some noisy and drunken partying. Hyatt corporate told me that the hotel is long overdue for upgrades. In other words, this hotel has fallen below the Hyatt brand standard for many years. Expect this property to be de-flagged from the Hyatt family.
